Meet Dr. Grammer

Dr. Anne Claire Grammer is a clinical psychologist and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford School of Medicine, where she supports teaching and clinical training of mental health professionals. Dr. Grammer currently sees youth, young adults, and families in private practice, providing specialized assessment and treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and related concerns. Dr. Grammer’s clinical approach is rooted in the use of interventions that are backed by research. She is certified in gold-standard family-based treatment (FBT) for anorexia, bulimia, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder. In addition to her specialization in eating disorders, Dr. Grammer frequently utilizes other evidence-based treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders including choking and vomit phobia, exposure and response prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder, and parenting interventions. In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Grammer has focused the last decade of her career studying the impact of technology on youth mental health and working within the tech industry to build safer online digital experiences for young people. Her research has been highlighted in over 26 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with funding from organizations like National Institutes of Health, American Psychological Association, and Association for Psychological Science. Dr. Grammer is available to consult with professionals and organizations on evidence-based practices and responsible design of mental health products. Dr. Grammer received her BA from Bryn Mawr College, her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Grammer provides: -Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning -Individual and family treatment -Parenting consultation -Training and consultation to clinicians and healthcare systems -Training and consultation to parents, schools, and tech organizations At this time, Dr. Grammer provides care via Telehealth only in California. In-person care in the Bay Area may be available in the future. Dr. Grammer is an out-of-network provider. Rates are adjusted periodically, so please call to discuss current rate. Many health insurance policies provide coverage for out-of-network mental health services. However, you (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of fees. On request, Dr. Grammer will provide you with a monthly statement to submit to your health insurance provider or a health savings account. Depending on your plan, insurance companies may reimburse 20-80% of the session fee. Check with your health insurance plan prior to your first session to learn more.
